The Reporting Process & FAQ

How does wedding journalism differ from photography?

Photography is an amazing medium to capture visual essence. A wedding journalist, however, captures the verbal and emotional narrative and combines this with photos to give a comprehensive account of the day. It's the difference between seeing a moment and understanding the feeling behind the words spoken. We record the speeches, the quiet whispers, and the guest stories that photographs alone cannot speak.

What exactly is a keepsake magazine?

It is a professionally printed, editorial-style publication featuring your wedding story in long-form prose. I combine journalistic reporting, interviews with your loved ones, and curated photography into a high-end journal you can display and share for generations.

Do you interview the guests during the wedding?

Yes, but discreetly and organically. I strike up casual conversations to gather the anecdotes and memories that make your network of family and friends so unique, without disrupting the flow of the celebration. First and foremost, I'm there to observe the day and watch it unfold so I can memorialize it later.

What is the timeline for the final product?

Because this is a deeply hands-on editorial process, and because it hinges upon when your wedding photos are ready, it will be delivered to you several months after your wedding. I'll have a better idea of the end date for a project after speaking with you and your photographer, but I will always keep you in the loop.

Do you travel outside of NYC?

Absolutely. While I am based in New York City/Westchester County, I travel far and wide to capture stories wherever a couple chooses to celebrate. Travel fees are custom-quoted based on your destination and the length of coverage required.
