Bride And Groom Running

Package 4: The Cover Story

What can be subbed for the "vows" or "toasts" pages?

If you and your partner are not reading personalized vows or simply don't want them included, I have a list of other things we can substitute and am open to input! Some of the things on my list include a details page or spread (that's two pages, left and right), a wedding party page or spread, a feature on a special wedding moment, or any combination of these. I want you to feel like your magazine represents you and your day to the utmost.

What is the "couple's thank you" page?

This page gives an opportunity for the couple to thank anyone who helped their relationship and wedding day come to life. It's also an opportunity to thank those who attended.

What is on the family page?

The family page includes any immediate and sometimes extended family who are integral to the couple's lives and story. Family can be complicated, so there aren't rules about who must be included on this page; maybe your chosen family best represents this part of your story, or maybe you're excited to start your own family by getting married. This page is an opportunity to highlight as much or as little about family you like, whatever that means to you.

What's a portrait page?

This is a photo-only page where the visual aspects of your wedding can simply shine on their own. They are sprinkled between stories and other writings to give room for reflection and to mimic a real magazine.

"The Cover Story" FAQ

Package 4: The Cover Story

Floral Centerpiece Arrangement

Price: $5,000

This may seem high, but my pricing is based on what I need to deliver the best-quality magazine to couples. I devote about 10-12 hours to interviewing and interview prep/transcription, 8 hours of wedding day reporting at the venue, and an additional 80+ hours creating the magazine, printing it, and doing the administrative tasks that make that possible. That works out to about the same hourly rate I make on other freelance writing jobs.

Time Commitment for Couples

Couples should be prepared to spend a 60-minute interview with me (either in person or virtually) before the wedding and 60 minutes with me after the wedding. Although I'll be in attendance on the day, I love hearing how the two of you felt before and after. I will also need you to facilitate contact between myself and your photographer, as well as a wedding planner if you have one.

Process

With permission from your wedding photographer, I will combine their work with mine using design software, carefully placing the stories I've written and synthesizing countless notes to capture as much as I can of your day.

Delivery

How soon after the wedding you can expect the final product will depend on each couple, but I will always communicate expectations clearly and in writing.
